Yesterday we walked to the American Library of Paris to register as a family. The library is situated in the very heart of the 7eme, just next to the Eiffel Tower and has a huge selection of books for adults and children plus they hold regular events for kids- crafternoons/reading challenges etc-which the kids will enjoy. We don't know when we'll return to the UK so I'm keen for the kids to keep up their English so they'll be ready to re-enter the UK education system when necessary. It took one hour to walk to the library from our apartment and what a walk! We walked through the Jardin du Luxembourg, Montparnasse and finally into the 7eme. When we were researching Paris, I read that the 7eme is home to rich Americans and old French ladies with face-lifts and small dogs-the description couldn't have been more accurate! I am looking forward to borrowing some books and then enjoying a coffee at a nearby cafe while indulging in some people-watching!
